Today our new Government has published their coalition agreement programme and speculation surrounding HIPs has been confirmed: they are scrapped with immediate effect.
The question everyone is asking is with regards to EPCs, are they staying and if so when will they be needed?
EPC’s are to stay according to Communities Secretary Eric Pickles and Housing Minister Grant Shapps. Sellers will need to have commissioned an EPC, but won’t need to have received an EPC, before marketing their property.
A seller will need to produce the EPC within 28 days of putting a property on the market.
An EPC has been commissioned when a Domestic Energy Assessor has been instructed to prepare the EPC and the EPC has either been paid for or has given a clear undertaking to pay for it.
Pricing for Referrer:
EPC only - £55 plus VAT
EPC and 2D Floorplan bundle - £70 plus VAT (Energy assesor supplies the sketch)
